Manolis Papastephanakis passed away at the age of 84 – PASOK’s condolences
At the age of 84, the former minister and MP of Heraklion passed away PASOKManolis Papastephanakis.
PASOK issued a statement expressing its condolences:
“It is with sadness and respect that we say goodbye to the former Minister of PASOK and historical figure, Manolis Papastefanakis, who has passed away.
He exercised his parliamentary and ministerial duties with dedication, honesty and hard work, serving as a Member of Parliament for Heraklion in the periods 1981-1990 and 1993-1996, as well as Minister of the Interior and PECHODE.
We send our sincere condolences to his family.”
Condolences also from the regional governor of Crete
In his condolence announcement, the regional governor of Crete, Stavros Arnautakis, referred to the offer of the deceased, expressing his condolences to his family.
Specifically in his statement, Mr. Arnautakis notes: “It is with sadness that we say goodbye to our fellow citizen, Manolis Papastefanakis, who served public affairs, as the Member of Parliament for Heraklion of PASOK and as Minister of the Governments of Andreas Papandreou. With a strong belief in his views, he contributed to the public life of the place and associated his life with the march of the Democratic Party. In parallel, he starred in some of the most critical moments of the country’s political life, from 1981 onwards. For his loss, I extend my sincere condolences to his people.”
