Four women have been recovered dead after a boat carrying an unspecified number of migrants capsized in the sea area of ​​Agios Isidoros, northwest of Samos.

According to the Coast Guard, 5 people have been rescued from the sea so far, while more than 20 have been found on land and it is being examined whether they are passengers of the boat.

According to the first information, the boat sank about 150 meters from the shore in bad weather conditions. A private citizen heard voices and notified the Coast Guard.

At this point, at this time, a search and rescue operation is in progress, under the Unified Search and Rescue Coordination Center of the LS, to locate any missing persons. A private diver is operating at the scene, while three floats of the Air Force port helicopter and a private rescue team with a boat participate in the search.
