The Church is considering special… schools for couples who are thinking of getting married, in order to prepare them for married life, with the aim of strengthening the institution of the traditional family, in the face of the “weakening” that occurs in modern times.
Yesterday, during yesterday’s second day of work of the Synod of the Hierarchy of the Church of Greece, the Metropolitan of Thessaloniki Philotheos proposed a series of practical measures to this end, such as the return of the newlyweds to the desks for intensive lessons, before they go up the stairs church.
As he pointed out, “the perceived functional difficulties related to the traditional family together with the individualistic way of modern reality lead more and more couples to marital breakdown, separation and divorce”.
Among other things, to strengthen the institution of the family, Mr. Filotheos, according to Ta Nea, also proposed the creation of a central fund to support pregnancies, the further development of Parenting Schools that operate under the responsibility of the Church of Greece, the creation Experiential Parent Groups and three-day camps for families.
