“Imitator of Plessas. A name, a story, a legend of music with dozens of distinctions and honors that few have achieved”, says Finos Film
In a special and touching way, Finos Film wanted to say goodbye to the unforgettable musician and composer Mimi Plessawho passed away today at the age of 100.
The video, lasting about one minute, includes scenes from the films in which Mimis Plessas had composed the music. The shots are framed by the mournful music that “dressed” the film “Bullets don’t return” and for which in 1967 it received the Best Musical Score Award at the Thessaloniki Film Festival.
“Imitator of Plessas. A name, a story, a legend of music with dozens of distinctions and honors that few have achieved. Compositions that raised generations and generations, that accompanied us in joys and sorrows, that took us on a journey to legendary movie musicals, that excited us, inspired us, moved us and matured us. In 1965, he wrote in a personal letter to Fino: “Fortunately, wealth is not measured only by the contents of the pocket but also of the heart, and there I think I am a cross.”
Our melodious maestro completed a century of life with us and the only thing that is certain is that he will remain “eternal”.
We bid him farewell with a short tribute to the legendary films for which he scored the music, but also to the great musical composition he wrote for the film The Bullets Don’t Go Back (1967), winning the Award for Best Musical Score at the Thessaloniki Film Festival
Goodbye maestro…”, says Finos Film in its post.
