3 men, aged 22, 26 and 39, and a 37-year-old woman were arrested this morning in the area of Aspropyrgos and a case file was filed against them by the Aspropyrgos Security Department for aggravated theft.
In particular, according to ELAS, police officers of the DIAS Group, as part of their patrol, located a vehicle with two occupants, loaded with iron objects that they had removed from it a little earlier, near a railway network, where work was being carried out.
In a subsequent search along the network they spotted two more people removing metal objects from the railway tracks and arrested them.
At the same time, as it became known from the Police, an employee of the company supporting technical works on the railway lines was also arrested, who allegedly facilitated the removal of the above items for a fee, and a case was filed against him for aggravated theft.
The objects seized were confiscated and handed over to a competent employee of the Transport Agency.
The vehicles used for their transport were also seized.
Those arrested will be taken to the competent Prosecutor.
