A group of young actors brought the spirit of Christmas to the two Children’s hospitals of Athens, giving smiles and moments of joy to hospitalized children
The corridors of Children’s hospitals were filled with fairy tales and melodies that warm the heart “Saint Sophia” and “Aglaia Kyriakou“, with the little patients enjoying Christmas carols, gifts and unique performances.
This is the action organized by the Culture, Sports and Youth Organization of the Municipality of Athens, which formed a group of young and talented actors to bring the spirit of Christmas to the two Children’s hospitals of Athens.
It all started in the event hall located right between the two hospitals with the phrase “Shall we meet?”. Within minutes, the often silent corridors of the Children’s took “color” and the carols began to sound. This was followed by the show which had the theme of goblins planning in the underworld how to… destroy Christmas. But something magical happens and the goblins finally get close to people, love each other and become lonely.
However, not all the children hosted at the Children’s Center were present at the performance and the carols that were presented in the event hall. Many remained in their beds. But no one would leave them unsatisfied. The “company» of goblins he then took the corridors and visited every roomin each clinic, among them, the surgery and her oncologicalreports Orange Press.
The children – of different ages, but also the parents and nurses who were taking a festive “breath”, seemed to enjoy every moment, every note and conversation. The play was performed many times, but it always ended in the same way. With the song -which had once been arranged by Alcinoos Ioannidis and Tzimis Panoussisin verse of the second – “me and you together”:
“Me and you together
When your luck will be fleeting
and you away from your warm bed
Then remember the golden tip
Me and you together.”
The president of OPANDA Eleni Zontirouwho was present at Paiden at the time of the emotional performance, assured that the exact same action will take place on New Year’s. It should be noted that the artistic supervision of OPANDA’s Christmas activities has been undertaken by Maria Papagianni, Lili Lamprelli and Ava Chalkiadaki.
