2024 was another amazing year for Volvo, with the company’s sales hitting a new all-time high globally. As Volvo Cars announced, in 2024 it sold 763,389 cars, increasing its sales by 8% compared to 2023. Sales of all-electric Volvos totaled 175,194 cars, a 54% increase over 2023 and now represent 23% of total sales internationally (36% in Europe). The share of all electrified models, pure electrics and plug-in hybrids in total Volvo sales now stands at 46% (65% in Europe).

Even more impressive is the picture shown by the figures for electric Volvo sales in Greece. For 2024, Volvo Car Hellas announced total sales of 2,240 units, which, together with the corresponding performance of 2023, constitute the 2 best performances of the last 15 years. Sales of purely electric Volvos in the Greek market registered a leap, +211.9%: with 1,245 units, they now represent a share exceeding 55% of the total number of cars sold by the company.

This performance puts Volvo in second place in the premium electric market, with a 27% share. three times compared to the third company in the relevant ranking. In the entire Greek market of electric cars, Volvo occupies third place. It is pointed out that all electric-powered – purely electric and plug-in hybrid – Volvos sold in 2024 in Greece amount to 1,818, making up 81% of total Volvo sales.

The “game changer” for Volvo’s performance in the Greek market is none other than the new EX30. The impressive all-electric SUV of the Swedish company was enthroned with good morning at the top of the premium “B-SUVs”, capturing a share of 40.5% of the entire category. It is worth emphasizing that this performance concerns cars with all types of engines, an element that demonstrates how competitive and attractive Volvo’s electric proposal is. It should also be noted that, with 987 units, the EX30 represents 44% of all Volvos sold on the Greek market in 2024.

“Last year’s report was particularly satisfactory for our company”, said Jovana Jovic, CEO of Volvo Car Hellas. “With the EX30 as a driver, we achieved our goals and we feel happy to contribute to changing the Greek road landscape, with sustainable and modern electrified proposals like our small SUV. We reasonably expect a similar continuation for the year we are already going through”.
