At the same time, the dead decreased by 16.7% (25 versus 30 in 2024), while seriously and slightly injured by 9 (34 vs. 25 in 2024) and 50 (600 vs. 550 in 2024), respectively.
Particularly positive, during this year, the image in Attica is presented, where fatal traffic has fallen by 60% (-4- versus -10- in 2024), while the severely reduced from -7- in 2024 to -6- in 2025 (14.3% decrease) and with a constant voltage of light (-231-23-220-220).
In the rest of the territory, according to ELAS data, the deadly traffic has a constant trend (20 in 2025, 19 in 2024), while the serious (19 vs. 13) and the light (222 vs. 204) increased.
At the same time, there was an increased infringement certificate in Attica, where excessive speed remains frequent and increasing offense, as the violations certified this year doubled (2,130 versus 1.108). But also in the majority of other dangerous offenses, the same image is presented, where they were confirmed:
• 559 for drunkenness (versus 546 in 2024),
• 891 for helmet (compared to 884 in 2024),
• 455 for zone (versus 375 in 2024),
• 146 for a red traffic light (compared to 99 in 2024).
Finally, ELAS points out that “Tarantic checks and infringement certificate are critical prevention tools aimed at preserving human life. This is not a demonstration of rigor or a collection measure, as any infringement found in time may prevent an accident, contributing to safer movements for everyone. In this context, the Greek Police will continue to carry out intensive checks aimed at a safer road environment for all.
