OR Holy Metropolis of Nea Ionia, Philadelphia, Heraklion and Chalcedon launches “LOGOS – LOGOS”, an innovative digital tool of spiritual reference, which utilizes the capabilities of Artificial Intelligence (AI), in order to offer valid knowledge and information on theological, ecclesiastical and spiritual issues, with the aim of highlighting Artificial Intelligence as artificial intelligence, i.e. as an absolute technological tool in the ministry of man.

The “LOGOS” was created in collaboration with the HIRON ICT Laboratory, in the context of a pioneering partnership between the Church and the Research Community, with the aim of developing a specialized algorithm, which combines technological innovation with the orthodox theological tradition. The academic supervision and responsibility of the project is Mr. Athanasios Davalas, Academic Head of AI Programs (TN) of the University of the Aegean and Head of the HERON ICT Laboratory.

This algorithm has been designed to recognize, process and clearly render the content of Orthodox ecclesiastical thought, offering the user an authentic and responsible experience of spiritual information.

“LOGOS – LOGOS” does not replace official decisions Churchnor her parish and devotional life. It aims to be a modern helper for every believer, who wishes to be informed and deepen in matters of faith, always having as a foundation the light of the Orthodox Tradition and the spiritual experience of the Church.

“LOGOS – LOGOS” does not replace the spiritual priest, but functions as an assistant in contemplation, learning and the search for God’s will, in order to inspire study, strengthen knowledge and connect man with the living Church.

With this initiative, a creative utilization of technology is attempted for the benefit of spiritual cultivation and ecclesial witness, highlighting that the coupling of science and faith can lead to new forms of ministry, knowledge and communication.
