Who is Eumenios Saridakis?
In accordance with neakrtitiit was offspring of a large and poor family from Ethia. He was born on January 1, 1931.
His parents, George and Sofia Saridaki, were pious and virtuous people and had eight children. Their eighth and last child was Father Eumenius, who at his baptism was named Constantine.
Little Konstantinos was orphaned by his father when he was only two years old. She was poor, losing and her support was in a very difficult situation. He grew up in this environment and with many deprivations. He wore shoes at the age of twelve.
Despite all the deprivations, hunger and misery, tthe morals and mindset of this little boy were not altered.
Father Eumenios was called to monasticism. He himself said: “I, At the age of seventeen I went to the monastery. I was in my village for sixteen years. I loved God, of course, I often thought of becoming a monk. One day the priest says to me: “Let me make you a nun”. I went too. I lit the candles morning and night, I even read, I read whatever books I saw. On New Year’s Day 1944, in the afternoon, I went, lit the candles in the church, and then went to our house. My sister Eugenia was there. We ate xerotigana, pancakes and spaghetti. Where we were eating, a flash came and blinded me and entered the depths of my soul. And immediately, at the same time, I shouted to Eugenia: “Eugenia, I will become a monk”. At the same time. At that moment God enlightened me. I saw with my own eyes that radiance, which entered me. As soon as I saw this radiance, I said directly: “I will become a monk” ».
His steps, then they lead him to the Holy Monastery of Agios Nikitas, in the south of Crete. After his three-year ordeal, he became a monk and was named Sophronios.
As a monk, Sophronius laid the foundation of his solitary life with humility, obedience and hard work. He performed in new races. During the day he worked hard and at night he remained awake and praying. He kept this standard until the end of his life.
Then he went to the army but became seriously ill with leprosy. At the anti-leprosy Station in Athens, Father Sofronios was successfully hospitalized and completely cured. The disease did not leave him any deformity, not even the slightest sign.
After his treatment of this serious disease, premained inside the Anti-Leprosy Station, out of love for his suffering brothers. The Management of the Station, because he was a monk, gave him an individual cell, next to the church of Agioi Anargyroi. In this cell Pappoulis spent the rest of his life.
There he resumed the spiritual struggles, which he had been deprived of due to his army and illness.
Father Sophronios’s daily activities were caring for the decency of the Temple, in which he also took on the duties of a cantor, and caring for patients who were paralyzed and had no one to take care of them.
Yet, he made incense and distributed it to monasteries and templesand filled the chambers with sacred images and spiritual books.
In the summers he went for months to Mount Athosin which he rested a lot.

Father Sophronios served him with all his soul and heart and had him as his spiritual father and guide. In 1975, at the age of 44, the monk Sophronios was ordained an elder and was named Eumenios.
Father Eumenios continued his life in Leimodon as a priest and was distinguished as an excellent spiritualist.
