Archbishop Ieronymos orders investigation into priest’s attack on trans woman

To ordered an investigation for priest attacking trans woman in a sacred temple in Kallithea, called by Archbishop Jerome.

As the church characteristically stated embraces every human being who is in need, without criticizing him and without stigmatizing him “giving the order to the competent services of the Archdiocese of Athens to immediately investigate the incident.

“Every human being is a person and as a person is an image of God“, Added Mr. Ieronymos.

“Our Church not only on these Holy Days but every day, every month, every year, every moment, embraces every person in need, every brother of ours who is tested, regardless of any discrimination whether it concerns his gender or his race , either in its color, or in its religion, or in its beliefs. “Without criticizing him and without stigmatizing him”, he continued saying.

“Every clergyman of our Church must be a deacon of God and of all men,” he pointed out.

It is recalled that the trans woman was attacked by the priest, at a meal outside the church of Agios Nikolaos in Kallithea, last week, with the man attacking her using vulgar phraseology.
