The proposal made by Kyriakos Mitsotakis to Evi Christofilopoulou to head the Independent Authority for the Protection of Personal Data has already caused a stir in PASOK, as well as a new rift in Charilaou Trikoupi’s relations with Piraeus Street. Mrs. Christofilopoulou conveys her displeasure with the development, asking for an explanation as to why her party does not support her. “Do they really have a problem?” he is reported to be asking.
In Harilaou Trikoupi, they are suspicious of the moves made by the government camp. They see an attempt to “bleed” the leadership of PASOK by the ND. It now seems very difficult for PASOK to support the candidacy of Evi Christofilopoulos, when the matter comes to the Conference of Speakers of the Parliament. It is recalled that a 3/5 majority is required in order to be approved.
