Commenting on the events in Evros, the secretary of PASOK-Movement of Change requested, initially, seriousness from all political parties and for an official notification from the government to the Parliament

In the wake of the Prime Minister’s message on the exit from enhanced supervision, the secretary of PASOK-Movement for Change, Andreas Spyropouloshe emphasized, in an interview with the SKAI television station, that “the Greek people have a memory. At this point in time, Mr. Mitsotakis must realize that he made the biggest fiscal expansion without us knowing where the money went. They probably went to a few and specific ones. Small and medium-sized businessmen have taken little of what he gave“, he argued.

Citizens’ real income has been reduced by the precision wave and the energy crisis. The government is not taking bold measures with an increase in the minimum wage, reinstatement of EKAS for low pensioners – we were the first to come out and say it“, he added.

Commenting on the events in Evros, initially asked for seriousness from all political parties, while reminding that PASOK-Movement for Change points out the need for official information from the government to the Parliament about what happened and how the specific people were found on the rock island as well as how we were led to death of the 5-year-old girl. “Was there an attempt to push back from the Turkish side? Is there an organized plan?”, asked Mr. Spyropoulos.

About whether the islet is inside or outside Greek territory, on the occasion of the documents of the land register, cited by SYRIZA, and of the General Staff of the Army, made public by the government, he noted that “we also collect information from our local officials as well as from the services. But we want to move institutionally, with the seriousness that should be on a national issue, in Mr. Erdogan’s attempt to use human souls as a tool against our country and the borders of the EU”.

Regarding the wiretapping issueMr. Spyropoulos reiterated the need to shed light on the Androulakis case both for the monitoring by the EYP and for the attempt to trap his mobile phone with the Predator.

He recalled that “the first act of the government of Mr. Mitsotakis and the so-called staff state was to take under its umbrella the EYP in the Maximos Palace and in the prime minister’s office. And they come today and tell us that the prime minister and no one in the government knew. Let’s be serious.”

With reference to the decade-long investigation proposed by Megaro Maximos, the secretary of PASOK-Movement of Change called on anyone “who has information about any other moment in time when anything related to the surveillance of a politician, journalist or other person was done, to submit it to the Greek justice”.

Addressing, finally, his ND counterpart, Pavlos Marinakis, called it “challenging to hear the ND secretary say that any prime minister has the ability to monitor political opponents whenever he wants. It is unthinkable in a democratic state that they lead the country to the darkest thing in history. They will apologize to the Greek people for what they have done to the Republic”, concluded A. Spyropoulos.
