The “dark and reactionary framework” that applies to surveillance by ND, SYRIZA, PASOK/KINAL, which “multifacetedly shields the power and interests of big capital at the expense of the people and their rights, must be abolished”, he pointed out among among others in his speech to the Parliament, the General Secretary of the Central Committee of the KKE, Dimitris Koutsoubas, intervening in the pre-day debate on wiretapping.

He pointed out the responsibilities of the ND government, but also of the SYRIZA and PASOK/KINAL parties that either as governments or as opposition parties enriched and voted for relevant laws that incorporate a series of reactionary EU rules and now that the case of N. Androulakis has been revealed, they do not say a word and make every honorable effort to hide this reactionary framework from the Greek people.
He brought concrete examples and evidence, for the passing of rules and laws by the various governments, while he reminded that since 1994 the law 2225 has been in force on the basis of which surveillance is considered “legal”, and it is constantly enriched by all governments based on the European arsenal.
He noted that the KKE can proudly state that it has voted against every EU law and directive that restricts people’s freedoms.
He reiterated the position of the KKE for examination by the Investigative Committee of all specific complaints such as the surveillance of N. Androulakis, the surveillance of journalists and the wiretapping at the headquarters of the Central Committee of the KKE from 2016 until today.
For six years and with two governments, there has been no response to the repeated complaints of the KKE, he underlined, noting the long delay in the investigations, the attempt to put the case in the file which was avoided thanks to the intervention of the Party, but also the many reasonable questions that have arisen for investigations and inspections by the Anti-Corruption Commission while the case is still being investigated and new critical information is emerging.
Finally, he called on the people not to compromise with a state that appears to be their “protector” but in the end is their rapist, to turn their backs on the political forces that now appear as “innocent pigeons” and advocates of the protection of individual rights and are the same ones who they pass laws that attack people’s rights.
Only the people can protect the people, who do not compromise with “big brothers”, with platitudes and envelopes, target the real opponent, capital, and claim their rights.
