Regarding surveillance: There is no other refuge in democracies than Justice. We will await its verdict – Attack on SYRIZA: It is not a faction, but a patchwork that feeds on misery and thrives in the mire of politics – Mr Erdogan prefers Mr Tsipras, but he has me against him, he told the Political Committee of the SW

At the meeting of the Political Committee of the New Democracy, the prime minister and president of the ND, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, is speaking at this time.

Watch the speech live:

The Prime Minister began his speech with reference to the 2023 elections. This is the moment when the content becomes clear throughout the coming period, we must show our work, what we said we did. To ensure that Greece remains on the path to progress, blocking the way to a second time in disaster.

Never before has our country faced such great and successive crises. In this unstable environment, the Greek society and economy not only remained standing. Growth for 2022 reaches 6%. At the same time, unemployment fell to a 12-year low. Investment giants are voting for Greece, big projects are progressing everywhere. More jobs, more decent wages and pensions. Growth allows us to reduce taxes. We will raise the minimum wage again, raise pensions on 1-1-2023. We subsidize electricity bills.

Three fronts on the way to the polls. They are connected to each other.

1 Nationally with war in the heart of the continent and an aggressive neighbor

2. The internal situation in the country, the international crisis that is bridged with the pursuits of other centers that seek to undermine the government. They seek a break in the trust relations between the state and the citizens and the formation of a sick situation. We have disturbed many, the dynamics have taken away power from centers. Some show us their teeth, we new democrats do not chew.

3. Third front an opposition that says no to everything, that sees Mitsotakis responsible everywhere, sows division with mud and threats. Not only to me and the government, but also to ordinary citizens. Leave the country, we are coming, writes Mr. Polakis to an ordinary citizen.

We defend democratic Europe and Peace, we do not want a fait accompli in Ukraine that Turkey would like to imitate in our neighborhood. Erdogan does not hide that he would like to have Mr. Tsipras opposite him, but he has me. Where I address him. He has me because this is what the sovereign Greek people chose and no one else. I address Mr. Erdogan sincerely when I tell him that Greece keeps the door closed to challenges, but the window to approaches is open. I feel like a friend of the Turkish people, but we do not have a dialogue with the absurd. Alliances are a national spear, armed forces are a shield.

Mr. Mitsotakis then referred to the government’s achievements in many areas of government work and added: Only last week, in the Economy, we had the final signatures for the reopening of the Elefsina Shipyards. We have saved the jobs of 600 workers and hope to add another 1,200. The next day the EU revised growth to double that of the eurozone. The Household Basket, announced to reduce prices on 101 products. For energy, the investigations for natural gas have started from Exxon Mobill. We decided to say no to the exploitation of the port of Alexandroupoli, recognizing its national importance. In Education, we had 3 consecutive news. I also met with representatives of 30 American universities that have entered into programs with Greek universities. Top universities such as Yale accept Greek students tuition-free. DOATAP announced that the recognition of foreign degrees will be completed within 60 days. We put an end to the shame of pending pensions. The state must stand by the citizens, they get their pension within a reasonable time. Within 22 months, 470,000 pensions were issued. Next are the ancillary and one-off.

Our economy is besieged by imported precision, we do not celebrate, but the effort is not allowed to go to zero. This is not a national peculiarity.

Referring then to SYRIZA and Alexis Tsipras, the prime minister referred to the refusal attitude of the official opposition party. It is not, he said, a faction, but a patchwork that feeds on misery and thrives in the mire of politics. That’s why they hide behind every vulgarity. The wretches even called us pedophiles. They are bracing themselves for defeat, even questioning the integrity of the election. Left Trumpism. The famous wiretapping is a last resort. They knowingly confuse legitimate attachments with illegal software. What are they trying to convince: That I had nothing else to do but watch my ministers, their wives, my secretary? The lie has short legs and Mr. Tsipras himself is coming to show his involvement. He said in his last interview that even in his time, illegal software was probably running. The Pegasus. We’re talking about the surveillance era where I have reasonable suspicions that my phone and my family’s were also being monitored. Just five days before the polls he changed the Criminal Code which prevented the trading of electronic surveillance devices. A felony became a misdemeanor. Who did he want to protect, who did he open the way to continue their action. Our opponents learned nothing from Novartis. The case is before the Court, which will do everything necessary to clarify it completely. There is no other refuge in democracies than Justice. We will await her verdict.
