Electoral Regions 1 Athens, 1 Piraeus, Arta, Kozani, Magnesia, Serres, Fthiotida, Thesprotia and Kastoria lose one seat.
The news distribution of parliamentary seats by electoral district as shown by the final results of the census of the legal population – residences 2021 issued by the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT), announced the Ministry of the Interior.
Based on the latest distribution of seats, two seats are won by the Electoral Region of Eastern Attica, while one seat is won by the North, West and South sectors of Athens as well as the 1st Electoral Region of Thessaloniki.
On the contrary, the Electoral Regions 1 of Athens, 1 of Piraeus, ‘Arta, Kozani, Magnesia, Serres, Fthiotida, Thesprotia and Kastoria lose by one seat. In fact, the last two Regions become unicameral.
This distribution also includes the effect of the three seats that are removed from the electoral districts to be added to the State ballot, in order to represent the residents abroad.
The Minister of the Interior, Makis Voridis, instructed the Elections Directorate of the ministry to proceed with the drafting of a relevant Presidential Decree that will reflect the above changes and which is expected to be issued by January 10, 2023.
