“I want to express my satisfaction with the meetings with the three presidents of the EU institutions, the discussion we had. I want to express my satisfaction with the fact that I see that there is a strong desire to restart the talks, to resolve the Cyprus issue, taking advantage of the important circumstances that exist at this particular moment, and what we have agreed is to work together in this directionsaid Mr. Christodoulidis.

He added that the goal of resuming talks on the basis of the agreed framework it is a common goal, and what we have agreed is to be in constant contact with all three presidents, precisely to achieve what I mentioned above. It was important and I had to start with the presidents of the three institutions. It is important to secure this support, this support of our effort also from the EU member states, so tomorrow is also important. First, I will give an update to the EPP, which is already on the agenda.”

“I will clearly ask for support, especially from all those who participate in the European Council, but also afterwards with bilateral meetings within the framework of the European Council with leaders who do not come from the EPP, but also as we agreed with President Michel during of the European Council, I will have the opportunity to develop concretely our proposal, which, from the response I have seen so far, at least from the presidents of the three institutions, creates an optimism. But we will continue the effort until the goal is achieved” noted Nikos Christodoulidis.
