Attack on Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and president of SYRIZA – Progressive Alliance Alexis Tsipras launched the president of PASOK – Movement for Change, Nikos Androulakis, during his speech at a pre-election gathering at the “Ioannis Vellidis” conference center of the TIF.

“For the last few hours, I have been close to bursting from my sadness after Mr. Mitsotakis’ statements that he has nothing to do with PASOK.

Mr. Mitsotakis, I and all democratic progressive citizens together have nothing to say with you,” said Mr. Androulakis.

The gathered burst into applause and shouted the slogan “the people do not forget what the Right means”, and the president of PASOK repeated it.

“What do we have to say with the champion of direct assignments, the champion of transfers, the champion of widespread corruption, what do we have to say with the champion of inequalities, the champion of the de-Hellenization of the Greek economy”, he wondered and continued: “the last twenty-four hours Mr. Mitsotakis shows who has a real obsession. He is trying to convince PASOK executives, friends, PASOK voters, that I am leading you on a blind front towards the New Democracy. However, the truth is one. He has been nesting inside him for the last few days the anxiety, the fear that what is born, the new, will be his real opponent and not the cheap populisms of Mr. Tsipras. Because Mr. Mitsotakis knows very well within himself that if there was no Tsipras, his government would already be a thing of the past in the consciousness of the Greek people.

The gentleman thinks Mitsotakis that the people forget the history of their family, with the defections, with the games, with the parastatal.

PASOK will not become anyone’s crutch.

Mr. Mitsotakis also politically tries to hurt us by saying that we are statists. But he is such a political modernizer that if he and his family’s ruffians were to be put in a row, they would exceed the length of the Great Wall of China.”

He then attacked Alexis Tsipras and SYRIZA-PS, saying that his government, in the period 2015-2019, is “Mr. Mitsotakis’ only lifeline”.

“On the other hand, Mr. Tsipras cannot articulate the word PASOK and is giving us history lessons,” he noted and added: “He said yesterday that Andreas Papandreou never had a front with the progressive forces. And I ask him: Are progressive forces the Antonaros and now the executives of Kammenos who filled his ballot papers? Or is the digital parastatal run by Koumoundourou a progressive front and attacking political opponents accusing them of being “caught” and the other of being “blackmailed”? Is he the leader of a digital parastatus who did not have the morals not to target a young woman, a young partner who reported her abuse. If this is the Left, then Mr. Tsipras lives in Latin America.

PASOK is here to embrace the progressive Left, the progressive center and the anxieties of every democratic citizen”.

At the same time, he referred to Andreas Papandreou and addressing Mr. Tsipras remarked that “it cannot be an exploitable product by those who talk about alleged theories about Prespas of the Aegean. Andreas Papandreou and the patriotic PASOK do not go together with the Prespas of the Aegean. Andreas Papandreou and his patriotic popular movement do not go together with the dangerous theories that there are no borders in the sea. So leave our founder and historical leader Andreas Papandreou alone in history. This political giant has nothing to do with your dangerous adventures.

But Mr. Tsipras has the audacity to teach us lessons about how the New Democracy will fall. Who; her big sponsor. Every week they will say something to give Mr. Mitsotakis a chance”.

At the beginning of his speech, Mr. Androulakis characterized the pre-election gathering in Thessaloniki as a message of victory and emphasized: “PASOK is here, the democratic faction is here.

Your presence tonight at Vellideo confirms that on May 21 we are sending a message of victory, hope and perspective for all Greek women and for all Greeks.

The return of the democratic faction is now a clear fact. Re-embracing the struggles of the vulnerable and the middle class, we are becoming the newborn movement that was founded in 1974.

Our political opponents see the mass of people of the democratic faction and in recent days have intensified their attacks against us, above and below the table.

Along with them and the interests that support them”.
