With a central slogan, “Do you want this voice to be in Parliament?” It is in your hands. On the 25th, МЕРА25, МЕРА25-Alliance for Break begins its campaign ahead of the June 25 elections, starting with the Central Electoral Commission, which met earlier.

For a party of the Left, a faction that strives for the people, not for the offices, the election to the Parliament is not an end in itself. It is a means of limiting the power of the Right and, at the same time, of protecting the defenseless”, stressed Yanis Varoufakis in his introductory speech. “Door to door from tonight. Neighborhood-neighborhood. Square-square. To convey to the citizens the message that proves that we received our own message on May 21st. That we don’t tell voters what to do. That we consider them mature fellow citizens who know better than anyone why this voice should be in Parliament“, he added.

Emphasizing the importance of the entry of MeRA25-Alliance for the Rupture into the Parliament, its leader stated:

Securing another 0.38%, so that we can enter the Parliament again, we are depriving MPs from “Mitsotakis SA”. Never would such an attainable goal have reduced the parliamentary strength of the Right so much. In addition to limiting the independence of Mr. Mitsotakis, the entry of a non-paternalist Left party into the Parliament, as demonstrated by the few MeRA25 MPs in the last four years, brings the voice of the fighters to the Parliament and, at the same time, elicits information and material that only from the Parliament can the movements draw, so that the fighters out there are informed about things they would never know. Moreover, such a party in Parliament is useful as a catalyst for the unity of uncompromising fighters, the selfless Left. We’ve already proven that. The proof is today in this room where we are all here, united after years of separate paths, because MeRA25 was in the Parliament».

Meanwhile, reshuffles are being made on the party ballots. In particular, G. Varoufakis made the decision in the June elections to be a candidate in the South Sector of Athens, in the 1st Athens and 1st Thessaloniki (which, after all, he represented in the previous Parliament).

Sofia Sakorafa will remain in charge of the State Ballot, Dimitris Stratoulis is moving to Second Piraeus. Professor Nikos Theocharakis will be in second place in the South Sector of Athens, while the second place in the State Ballot is occupied by Paola Reveniotis.

Despoina Charalambidou moves to the second place of A’ Thessaloniki, while the fourth place in the State Ballot is occupied by Michalis Kritharidis.

In addition, Nena Venetsanou is included in the State Ballot. Also, in the last, honorary, place in the A’ of Athens will be the actor Giorgos Chraniotis, as well as the president of the Union of Workers in the Construction of the Thessaloniki Metro Makis (Thomas) Michalopoulos, in the A’ of Thessaloniki, also Professor Yiannis Kouzis and Aleka Makri, in the last and penultimate place respectively, in the Northern Sector of Athens. Finally, the historical leader of the Left, Nadia Valavani, also chooses the last place on the ballot of the prefecture of Heraklion.
