“The defense, security and deterrent capability of the country, in a dynamically evolving and demanding geopolitical environment, are our strategic pursuits. With seriousness and responsibility, with intense action and extroversion, with absolute transparency and meritocracy, with faith and dedication to the democratic state, and with the proper functioning of structures and hierarchy, we will strengthen the effectiveness of our Armed Forces in the widest range of their activities“.

At the same time, he emphasizes that the Greek Armed forces they will continue their uninterrupted social contribution and will help in the difficult situations and emergency needs of the Greek citizens.

Addressing the officers of the Armed Forces, Mr. Dendias urges them:Continue to perform your duties on land, sea and air with high spirit, dignity, professional competence and a sense of responsibility” stating that “my personal ambition is to serve with you and feel yourself beside you in this titanic endeavour.“.

The new Minister of National Defense described the tenure of Nikos Panagiotopoulos and Alcibiades Stefanis as “fruitful and successful”, further noting:

“I stand with special respect towards the history of the Armed Forces and their glorious contribution to the country. I honor, like all Greeks, the memory of those who sacrificed themselves on the altar of their country in the line of duty. My previous tenure at the Ministry of National Defense and my contact with people who know what duty and contribution to the country mean, working day and night, creates a sense of familiarity and security for me.
