The press representative of SYRIZA – Progressive Alliance, Stergios Kalpakis, characterized Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis as inferior to the circumstances, in a speech on the occasion of the TIF, commenting that the Prime Minister was heard speaking as if someone else had been governing for the previous 4 years.

At the same time, he summarized that the policy of Mr. Mitsotakis reproduces insecurity in society.

“Although he was speaking at the 5th TIF as Prime Minister, Mr. Mitsotakis appeared as if he took over the governance of the country today.

He did not find an apology, he did not find a mistake or omission of his government in preventing and dealing with floods and fires. Only general references to confusion of responsibilities and shifting of responsibilities, which again concern his ministers and his elected officials in self-government.

He did not find a single proposal for Thessaly, for public health, feeding and sheltering the affected, animal collection, water supply, nor certainly for a plan to restore society and the local economy.

He dismissed criticism as “mud” and has now discovered adaptation to the climate crisis, while for four years he has not implemented the climate, fire and flood tools he received from the SYRIZA government.

He presented as new announcements his pre-election program and promised to crack down on tax evasion, while his government is giving one postponement after another to the connection of cash registers with POS.

He showed that he has no plan to deal with precision after the end of the market pass and said nothing about taxing the billions of euros in excess profits that fuel high inflation.

Today it also proved that there was the possibility of unfreezing the three years before the memorandum provision for reducing unemployment below 10% and that Mr. Mitsotakis for so many years, who refused the demand of SYRIZA – Progressive Alliance to unfreeze the three years, was simply deceiving the workers and deprived them of income. And all this, while introducing the 13 hours of work per day, while he did not ask us to say thank you for keeping the 11 hours of rest.

“Mr. Mitsotakis promised today supposedly ‘big changes’, but his policy reproduces insecurity in society, with the exception of those who can pay the insurance companies,” he said.
