“From the new year, I will work hard so that there is contact and cohesion between Omogenia and Greece”, stressed the president of SYRIZA in his message
He sends his wishes to expatriates everywhere with his exclusive statement through “E.K.” the Leader of the Official Opposition and its President SYRIZA, Stefanos Kasselakison the occasion of his presence in the United States for the Christmas and New Year holidays.
Mr. Kasselakis even submits a specific proposal on the vote of expatriates, arguing that “seats should be created for the expatriate with direct right to be elected – and not through the State ballot”.
In detail, Mr. Kasselakis’ statement is as follows:
“In 2023, I had the honor to permanently return to our homeland to represent the Official Opposition as its leader. SYRIZA may not have deep historical roots in Homogeneity, but its President grew up and was nurtured in it. And now I am trying to find the way to combine both these qualities: the Helladite and the Homogeneous.
From the beginning, SYRIZA has been in favor of creating seats for the Community with direct right to be elected – and not through the State ballot. That’s what I asked him too Kyriakos Mitsotakis at our meeting: that there be seats in the Parliament for any Homogenes who wants to represent their community in Greece.
Unfortunately ND is not in line with this proposal. This is an injustice for the Greeks Abroad which we will continue to highlight.
From the new year I will work hard so that there is contact and cohesion between Omogenia and Greece. Hellenism is all of us and we must spread our ideals internationally – and at the same time apply them ourselves among ourselves.
My warmest wishes to all Greek women and men for the New Year. Health, Happiness and Unity. Thank you for your trust.”
