The steps for full compliance with the decision of the Council of State were decided by the Plenary Assembly of the ADAE regarding the request of Nikos Androulakis to be informed by the EYP about the reasons he was under surveillance.

It is recalled that the Plenary Session of the Council of State had unanimously deemed the 2021 law as unconstitutional, which was applied to the surveillance case of the president of the PASoK, Nikos Androulakis, prohibiting his information.

The Supreme Court, with a unanimous decision of the Plenary, ruled that the measure of the universal prohibition of informing those whose rights are affected by surveillance is excessive, even if the invocation is for reasons of national security and therefore the specific provisions were deemed invalid and unconstitutional.

In its announcement today, ADAE states:

During today’s meeting, the Plenary of the Communications Privacy Authority (ADAE) decided on the steps to be taken in order to fully comply with Decision 465/2024 of the Plenary of the Council of State regarding the annulment request of the President PASOK – KINAL N. Androulakis.
