Answer to SYRIZA press representative Voula Kehagia who stated to SKAI that “we will be measured based on the percentages of the national elections and not those of the previous European elections” the Minister of the Interior gave Makis Voridis.

“Does it seem reasonable to anyone to compare parliamentary elections with European elections? The results of the European elections have their own characteristics”, stressed Makis Voridis.

“In 2019, ND took, if I remember correctly, in the European elections at 33.1% and a month later it got 39%. Now what can we say, that the European elections do not have special characteristics?” The ND has won more than 33.1% in European elections since 2004, but it certainly gets higher percentages in parliamentary elections. “One joke is that they want to compare European elections with parliamentary elections. Obviously the comparison is inappropriate… But why are they doing this now? Instead of going to 24%, which is the threshold for the European elections they go to the even worse which is the bar of 17% of MPs” commented the minister.

Makis Voridis requested that a message be sent in all directions for the protection of the rule of law with his vote Fred Belerisof the imprisoned mayor of Heimarra who, after being elected, found himself in prison.

“Maybe the court did its job well, I don’t know, but what is certain is that the sequence of responsibilities as they are distributed and analyzed obviously leaves us with the fact that what should have been done was not done…” he also commented on the decision for Mati the Minister of the Interior.
