“The citizens know all this and will send the bill to the European elections”
“After 5 years of stagnation and ridicule for the ThessalonikiMr. Mitsotakis he comes to announce the projects he himself froze”, comments o Socrates Famouson the occasion of the Prime Minister’s visit to Thessaloniki, adding that “the citizens know all this and will send the bill to the European elections”.
The president of the KO of SYRIZA PS states in particular that:
“-The extensions of the Metro to the west were frozen by the choice of the ND government in 2019 even though the preliminary works (archaeological, geotechnical, networks, bypasses) had been launched in Eptalofos, Menemeni, Kordelio, Evosmos, Ilioupoli, Stavroupoli, Polichni, Neapoli and connection with hospitals.
– In 2019, it was also decided by the ND government not to finish the main line of the Metro in 2020, but to detach the ancient ones of Venizelos and to have at least a 4-year delay with additional compensations of millions of euros to the contractor.
-The traffic study is clearly useful but it should have been completed before the fly over was announced, just like the Metro should have started and there should be an outer ring and not the city has been sentenced to a heart attack for 4 years and we are already paying compensations for delays to the contractor of the fly over, a project that will cost taxpayers more than 1.5 billion euros.
– The necessary electric buses are delivered many years late, since the government of Mr. Mitsotakis chose to cancel the tender for their supply, which the SYRIZA government had launched in 2019, and to start their delivery 4 years late.
“Our country has already been condemned by the European Court of Justice for violating the air pollution limits in Thessaloniki (and Athens)”.
