A fierce confrontation was provoked on Friday morning on the sidelines of an interview given by the president of SYRIZA, Stefanos Kasselakis on the radio stationReal Time 99.5» of Rhodes and the journalist Rena Pavlakis.

The tension started when Stefanos Kasselakis mentioned that there was no advertising campaign last year after the fires, with Rena Pavlakis pointing out to him that he does not have correct information, because there was a special campaign and it even had an impact throughout Europe.

Tones rose at another point in the discussion, when the journalist recalled that SYRIZA was the one who in 2015 awarded the Troika the reduced VAT rates of the islands, a blow that could not heal the metaphorical equivalent.

“Mitsotakis has ruled for five years and you are telling me about Tsipras and Varoufakis?” was the answer Kasselakis. “It’s an interesting interview because we’re clearly not communicating,” said the official opposition leader.

Her answer was that the president of SYRIZA, yesterday on the island, was with 30 people, with Stefanos Kasselakis challenging her to go wherever she wanted with him, “even to the stadium for Olympiakos, who fucked up the prime minister to come and let’s see who is popular and who is not.”

“Because I have to get on the plane, I have to go,” said the SYRIZA president afterwards, who left the radio station’s studio visibly irritated and saying “okay, it’s all SYRIZA’s fault”.

“The president of SYRIZA is arrogant, ironic, argumentative but also fearful”

The head of the opposition appeared excessively “arrogant, ironic, argumentative but also phobic” in the face of the questions of the journalist Renas Pavlakis, in which he showed an “immoral attitude for a political leader”, as the radio station states in its announcement.

“Stefanos Kasselakis showed unprecedented aggression and rudeness for a politician in his attempt to cover his political deficit and his ignorance of local issues, while he sought to have a monologue with generalities, aphorisms and catchphrases, empty of content, preventing the journalist from asks him questions and get answers about the party’s program in view of the European elections”, it is pointed out.
