The beginning was made when Thanasis Oikonomou replied to the ND MP, Nikita Kaklamanis on the occasion of the debate on the whereabouts of Kyriakos Mitsotakis, making unimaginable allegations about former SYRIZA MPs.

In particular, Nikitas Kaklamanis underlined the following for the participating SYRIZA MPs in the Parliament’s Committee on All Matters:

“Mr. Varemenos was, chaired by Ms. Christodoulopoulou. So you can ask them if they did a check and what they found in the check and I’ll close this issue. I am also telling you names, Mr. Varemenos and Ms. Christodoulopoulou.”

Thanasis Oikonomou took the floor, answering Mr. Kaklamanis:

“But the lady you speak of is apologizing for appointing her daughter. What exactly are you telling me? That’s what happened. And that’s why she didn’t put her daughter as a candidate the next time.”

Mr. Economou continued by saying that “there are shadows in these controls. Listen Mr. Kaklamanis. Obviously there are shadows in these Committees.”

At that moment, the presenter of the show, Seraphim Kotrotsos, immediately intervened, asking Mr. Oikonomou to clarify if “there are shadows in the checks that were made at the time by the government majority and the persons who represented the parliamentary majority in the specific committee”.

Mr. Oikonomou answered him:

At that moment, Mr. Kaklamanis referred to the then Speaker of the Parliament, Nikos Voutsis:

“Do you know who was Speaker of the House at the time? Nikos Voutsis and you are telling me that under the presidency of Nikos Voutsis these things happened? And are you not ashamed to say these things about your party?”

Thanasis Oikonomou also exposed the former Speaker of the Parliament, stressing that “he does not know if all this was known to him”.
