Everything shows that we have entered the final stretch for reshuffle, with Friday’s cabinet in front of us
By Penelope Galliou
The new “plan” of the government structure seems to be already being studied by the prime minister in order to promptly and without delays “respond” to the messages sent by the ballot box of the European elections with actions that will signal a “restart” for the ruling party.
With a horizon – even next Friday – when the meeting of the first Council of Ministers was convened after the European elections, Kyriakos Mitsotakis has successive contacts with his colleagues and Ministers, at the Maximos Palace, the threshold of which they passed since yesterday and met with him the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Giorgos Gerapetritis, the Minister of Finance, Kostis Hatzidakis and the Minister of Health Adonis Georgiades.
Contacts that photograph the immediate priorities set by the Megaros Maximos, imperatively after the election result, and focuses on all the issues related to the daily life of the citizen.
After all, this was also taken from the protest as reflected in Sunday’s election result, which is estimated to have contained, among other things, clear messages of discomfort about everyday issues, more importantly accuracy, which plagues all households, but also the health sector, with the situation facing people in public hospitals.
A harbinger of developments, apart from the intensive and targeted contacts made by Prime Ministeris also the postponement of his planned trip to Jordan for today, but also his interview tonight on a television news bulletin, where he is expected to give the impression of his intentions for the next period and to take the initiative of the movements after the election results.
Political initiatives at the level of re-engineering strategies – according to government sources – are in first priority for specific issues, which are estimated to “they hurt” her world SW and broadcast the specific messages of the ballot box. In this light, in addition to the accuracy for which new interventions are also being studied, issues such as the marriage of same-sex couples, or arrangements for the taxation of freelancers, disturbed certain groups of voters, and all these must – according to the same sources – to consider and re-approach the said “protesters”.
The prime minister himself spoke of “starting point of a new path to 2027, that’s why from tomorrow we turn with more intensity to problems, to more work and less weaknesses, to more effort and less failures“.
The change in policies, however, is expected to “pass” and through a change of persons, as it is carried out from the first hours of reading the election result and the fact that the relevant debate opened from the first hours after the Euro elections, sends the message that no time will be lost, in order to recover time and correct any wrong texts.
The intensification of the meetings at the Maximos Palace and the successive meetings, however, signal the immediacy of the movements, and the initiative of a reshuffle, which those in the know do not rule out that it will come even tomorrow or the day after tomorrow, in order to then take the oaths and convene on Friday the Cabinet.
An impression of the result is also registered within Piraeus, with two of its MPs already, Nikita Kaklamanis and Marios Salmas to request the convening of the ND Parliamentary Group, in order to discuss the causes of the election result.
Mr. Kaklamanis in fact, in an interview he emphasized, among other things, the need for “back to the roots“, showing as the reason for the drop in ND’s percentages its shift towards the center. On the same wavelength and the MP of Etoloakarnania, who in his letter to the prime minister, which he posted on his personal website on Facebook, speaks of ” unfavorable result for our faction” and points out that “we must give a serious answer to our hundreds of thousands of traditional voters who, some, even though their houses in the villages are 100 meters from the polling stations, chose to abstain and others to disapprove of the government’s policy“.
This morning, Kyriakos Mitsotakis will receive in his office the elected MEPs with the ND, in view of the assumption of their duties.
