In his post, Stavros Keletsis hinted at his departure
Tough answer to the objections of the Deputy Minister of Rural Development and Food coming from the new government scheme Stavrou Keletsis gave the Maximos Palace.
Sources of Maximos attributed his departure from the government inefficiency, not because he didn’t vote for the same-sex marriage bill as mentioned by Mr. Keletsis.
As they pointed out, three ND MPs who joined the new government, the Deputy Minister of Labor Kostas Karagounis, the Deputy Minister of Macedonia-Thrace: Kostas Giulekas and the Deputy Minister of Shipping Stefanos Gikas they had not voted against the disputed law.
The non-voting of the law regarding the marriage of same-sex couples he considered as the main reason for his departure from the government o Stavros Keletsis.
Mr. Keletsis, in his post, hinted at his departure, saying:
“I am sorry that I could not satisfy the Prime Minister’s wish to pass the same-sex marriage law as he asked me when he called me to the Prime Minister’s office on 16/1/24, because as I explained to him it opposes the principles and values ​​that I constantly serve. I knew then the possible consequences that this attitude would have on my part. And I accepted them.”
It is recalled that Mr. Keletsis abstained from voting on the bill for same-sex couples.
