Mr. Mitsotakis made a speech of historical revisionism which seems to be a fundamental need of his narrative, since this is obviously incompatible with true history, said the SYRIZA president
Attacking Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis for what he said about the 50 years since the restoration of the Republic, party president Stefanos Kasselakis began his speech to the Parliamentary Group of SYRIZA-PS.
Specifically, he said: “Mr. Mitsotakis made a speech of historical revisionism which seems to be a fundamental need of his narrative, since this is obviously incompatible with true history.”
He then explained: “He spoke mainly on behalf of his factional, but also family tradition, and one could attribute all these omissions to a convenient subjectivism. But there are some points that, even so, constitute historical falsification and on which I want to dwell: He spoke of healing the wounds of the Juntic betrayal and restoration during the post-colonial period of genuine patriotism against the Juntic beliefs, without clarifying how the existence of leading ministers of praise and nostalgia. With pseudo-patriotic intemperance, like those of Mr. Georgiadis, in order for people to forget the national mutilation to which the views of his teachers led us? Also, what happened was the epitome of the client state, reduced national sovereignty and foreign dependence.”
Speaking to the SYRIZA-PS Parliamentary Group, Stefanos Kasselakis spoke of the “culmination of the governmental deadlock” and added that “the deadlock portends the collapse of the Mitsotakis staff state and the uncontrollable fall of fragments in society as a whole”.
The former president of the party, Alexis Tsipras, was absent from the meeting. Mr. Kasselakis did not make any reference to the deletion of Pavlos Polakis from the Parliamentary Group of SYRIZA-PS, which was announced a short time before the floor of the Plenary by Sokratis Famellos.
In his speech, Mr. Kasselakis argued: “The collapse of the staff model of public health management risks turning into a universal inability of society to access the public health system. The collapse of labor relations with under-pay, non-existent control, the lack of collective contracts and the six-day work existentially threatens the country’s tourism, food and agricultural industries. state”.
He accused the prime minister of abandoning multidimensional foreign policy. He characteristically said: “Despite the government’s commitments for ‘calm waters’, we see that Greek-Turkish relations are in a new period of escalation”. He spoke of “hate parties in the occupied territories of the Republic of Cyprus accompanied by warships” and of “Turkey’s attempt to interfere in the internal affairs of Greece, questioning Greek sovereign rights in Kasos with the deployment of warships and questioning again the status of the Muslim Minority of Thrace “. He then added: “At this critical juncture, we, as a responsible opposition, demand that the government finally present a comprehensive national strategy for Greek-Turkish relations with a beginning, middle and end, to counter the revisionist neo-Ottoman Turkish narrative of “Galazia” Homeland” and Turkey’s commitment to dialogue with Greece on the basis of international law”.
He referred to the issue of banks and Attica Bank: “The collapse of the rules of equality of citizens towards the banking system, which I highlighted with my truth, thanks to which I exposed the scandalous arrangements of the First Issue, but also of the ND itself which owes half a billion, but also the legalized impunity of bank executives risks developing into a consolidation of a feeling of futility of the value of the healthy transaction between citizens and banks”.
He then clarified: “For this reason we are voting against this scandalous merger of a problematic cooperative bank with a methodically problematic public bank, precisely to relieve their friends the private shareholders of Pankritia from the obligation, based on the provisions of the European Central Bank, to rescue with their own money their own private bank. Against the decline of Greece’s banking system, which has turned into a parasitic profit-making mechanism for private individuals, a cynical cartel that charges whatever it wants, lends to whoever it wants , with the first preference of the government’s friends, we sound the alarm and tell the truth: that the profitability of Greek banks is unimaginably high by world standards and that this whole system is destroying, instead of helping, the Greek economy the government’s response? Instead of ensuring the existence of a public banking pillar, now that it has abandoned the state holdings in the four systemic banks, it should come and convert the last practically public bank, that is, the Bank of Attica into another private bank, thus abolishing within the framework of the provisions of the European Central Bank and the European Union, the possibility of the State to intervene regulatory in favor of the citizens in the banking ecosystem”.
He referred to the issue of public health: “It is the duty of SYRIZA-PS to fight to stop the bleeding caused by the wave of resignations of our doctors from the National Health System. It is very simple. We increase the salaries of medical and nursing staff, hire personnel and we solve the problem. Otherwise there will be no National Health System in a few months”.
He generalized the attack on the government saying: “The collapsing staff government by falling threatens to overturn every post-colonial democratic achievement including the free press, including the pension system, including public education, including the public infrastructure that for the sake of five mega-contractors building highways have made us the only European country without a railway. We live in the Mitsotakis era where the hypocrisy has reached such a level that we subsidize the purchase of an electric car with 10,000 euros and the birth of a child with 2,500 euros more expensive in the Western world compared to their salary Parents who pay the most expensive super market in the world compared to their salary Parents who have reached the point , August month, have only one choice: to go broke traveling with their children for a 10-day vacation on some cheap island or to stay in the big urban centers and go broke turning on the air conditions. This is what remained because of Mr. Mitsotakis from the 50 years of democracy in this country: The citizen has the right to choose only how to go bankrupt!!!”.
He referred to the party’s members: “Things have never been easy for our party and for our parliamentary groups. But at this juncture, even though we have been reduced by an unfair division, we have an obligation to work as 156. And of this, be sure and certain that society will repay us. And we can’t afford to forget the addition and multiplication. There is no room for tactics and individual agendas. There are 10,000,000 pairs of eyes watching us every day. And there is no infallible person among us, but I am sure that I would not be president in this party. Let us show our collective quality. And not our individual differences the people elected me as your president. And for none of us was he wrong.”
In closing, he underlined: “Today I have an obligation, in honor of the 50th anniversary of the restoration of the Republic, to invite you to stand as a shield to protect society so that the collapsing government does not annihilate any citizen. As long as SYRIZA-PS exists, the hope for a great democratic government remains alive As long as SYRIZA-PS exists, the certainty of returning the people to power remains.
