The President of PASOK-Movement of Change, Nikos Androulakis, criticized the government from Zakynthos, highlighting its inability to deal with oligopolistic practices and serving economic interests.

“They are traffic controllers of powerful financial interests. They serve interests in energy, food trade and private health because that is where their power in the media comes from. We are on the other side of the New Democracy government. Our concern is for the poorest and the middle class to trust us,” he noted.
Against the backdrop of continuous energy price increases, Mr. Androulakis underlined: “The green transition cannot be a business for five big businessmen. Connection terms to producers, processors, cooperatives and municipalities must be prioritized to contain energy costs. None of this has been implemented and we have reached the point where our taxes are taken from one pocket and given back as a subsidy from the other pocket, while the big energy producers make steady profits winter and summer».

Mr. Androulakis, referring to the housing crisis, recalled that in February when – following PASOK’s pressure – the increase in the golden visa limit in urban centers was legislated, he had warned that there should not be such a long transitional period for the implementation of the measure, because the rent prices in popular districts.

“I told Mr. Hatzidakis that the law cannot be passed in February but implemented in September, because in the meantime it will distort the market. Residents of third countries will run to buy properties in the poorest districts at the low visa of 250,000 euros. Today we read in the newspapers that in less than six months, more than 5,000 properties were sold to third-country residents in Piraeus and the popular districts of Athens. The President of PASOK-Change Movement made a special reference to the issues of civil protection.

Are we saying that this is a result of PASOK’s work in the European Parliament?
