Second speaker in a row on the floor of the meeting of the Central Committee PASOK-Movement for Changeat the Stadium of Peace and Friendship, was the Pavlos Geroulanos who, among other things, made it clear that “now, is the time. Now is the time for the “rebirth” of PASOK. We will not be forgiven if we do not respond to society’s demand.”

“We do not think of losing the opportunity for the country and PASOK for which three things are needed: Planforce composition mood, unity that is, and governance experience“, he added.

Mr. Geroulanos stated that the prospect of power for PASOK does not come without conditions, as it requires a change in function, mentality, leadership and a plan for rapid movements and radical reforms is needed for the country which – as he said – is based on the “Renaissance” plan.

“I am asking for the responsibility to lead PASOK, with a specific political plan for Greece. A political plan that does not simply come to manage the country’s administrative and production model, it comes to fundamentally change them. A paradigm shift is coming. It is coming to bring sweeping but also very structured changes. “Renaissance” is a political, human-centered, patriotic, socialist project. The second reason I am asking for the responsibility to lead PASOK is because I can serve it unity.

This is what I have been doing all my political life, within PASOK. From day one. That’s why I don’t have a party group. I don’t have “my own”. I don’t need my own team to preside over. I haven’t learned that way. I have learned to build teams. Taking advantage of anyone who wants to offer. Combining strengths and offering perspective. Wherever I was. That’s what I’ve always done. This, I will also do as president, if elected”, noted Mr. Geroulanos to add:

“I can guarantee the above, for one reason: Because no one is holding me back. I don’t have any internal party work. My first and only priority is PASOK and the future of the country. I am asking for the responsibility to lead the Panhellenic Socialist Movement because I have the experience to do so.”

“Because in a party in power, like PASOK, there is something even more important than winning the internal party ballot and the leadership on Sunday: Know what you will do on Monday. Before us, if we want to achieve our goal, we have epic battles. Battles with the government, battles with the problems, battles to convince the people that we are close to them. If the battle is in Parliament, the president must be there. If the battle is in society, the president must be there. If the battle is in the party, to choose a course, to close open issues, to decide strategy, the president must be there. There is no other way. The president leads by example. What does this mean? Two things. First, PASOK cannot and will not become a government by proxy. The chairman of the party must be a Member of Parliament. Because with me in the position of president, values, political action and willingness to offer will be the only criteria for participation in the institutions”, Mr. Geroulanos pointed out.

“Choosing the new leadership is a responsibility, comrades. Responsibility, not towards friends and acquaintances. But in front of the society that looks at us. To the homeland that awaits. In the story that gives us a second chance. I ask for the responsibility and the honor to lead our common struggle. I invite you to give him a punch together. And I assure you that the result will vindicate us”, concluded the PASOK-KINAL leadership candidate.
