The fact that the Americans’ dissatisfaction with the outgoing leadership was mainly related to its financial and income situation rang a bell in Athens as well.

After the first negative surprise that Trump’s election to the US presidency may have caused to the world community, a second reading of the election result and the factors that caused it “thickened the clouds” and increased vigilance in the Herod of Atticus.
The fact that, based on American analyses, Americans’ dissatisfaction with the outgoing leadership was mainly related to his financial and income situation rang a bell. Although from the first moment of the election for its second term, the government has made it clear that the daily life and economic “breath” of the citizens is very high on the agenda of its priorities, the fact that the results will be seen in the long term, makes the effort automatic either for further relief or for better communication of government policy.
“In the second four-year period, the first priority must be to increase wages. Not only of the minimum, but also of the average wages”, stressed Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis in a recent interview with SKAI, adding that “this is the answer to the persistent accuracy, because wages will continue to increase”.
Of course, the government has no intention of disrupting the country’s fiscal balance by jeopardizing the course of the Greek economy, however as government officials have repeatedly emphasized “depending on the course of the budget, possible new reliefs are not excluded” with a milestone for possible new announcements, the debate and the passing of the 2025 budget at the end of the year.
Besides, it is expected to be voted on by the Plenary of the Parliament in the next period the bill of the Ministry of Finance, which will institutionalize the reduction of 12 taxes, as Kyriakos Mitsotakis had already announced from the TIF platform, with the main ones being: the abolition of the business tax for all natural persons, the exemption from the health insurance tax for children under 18, the income tax exemption for three years for those who rent properties that were vacant or rented on short-term leases, etc.
Measures and reliefs which are aimed at the middle class, the reduction of which is a stated and recorded goal of the government. “We are concerned about the middle class and the burden on salaried work” government sources admit, and in this context it seems to be in the final straight line for the living standards that affect this social class. According to economic staff, reducing living standards is one of the government’s key priorities, along with reducing tax rates on middle-income earners, in order to correct the distortions of the current system in which wage earners and pensioners end up to pay the “biggest bill” of the presumptions.
In addition to the conclusions of the American elections related to the economy, a conversation has opened inside the ND about the social issues that allegedly also contributed to the rise of Donald Trump and have to do with either rights issues or the immigration agenda.
In fact, several MPs, who are “ranked” in the so-called “people’s right” bring back to the fore their reservations about the woke agenda judging that it played an important role in the crisis of the American voters, as they argued the same for the result of the European elections, essentially urging the House Maximus to turn the steering wheel a little “to the right”. Remarks, which at the moment seem to be rejected by the staff of Maximos, considering that any cost is balanced by the social policy that constantly aims to strengthen the people’s income and the relief of households with continuous and new interventions.
