With our amendment on the extraordinary levy on bank profits, the government was forced to announce in advance that it would take action after a public holiday
“PASOK runs a productive opposition“, said the President of PASOK-Movement for Change, Nikos Androulakis, opening the working session of the Parliamentary Group ahead of the budget debate.
More specifically, he said that:PASOK exercises a productive opposition by putting the agenda of social issues on the government and ultimately forcing it to take steps back.
This was clearly reflected in our amendment on extraordinary levy on bank profitsso the government was forced to announce that it would take initiatives after the holiday.
Something similar was done in the case of our amendment to classify the nurses, paramedics and EKAV workers as heavy and unhealthy, forcing the government to admit that their request is fair.
But also with regard to the reduction of VAT on basic goods, where again the government’s backslidings were recorded. We exercise structural, progressive programmatic and credible opposition and with it we will grow stronger».
