ND press representative Nikos Romanos criticized PASOK’s parliamentary representative Pavlos Geroulano for
Criticism of PASOK’s parliamentary representative, Pavlos Geroulano, was made by ND press representative Nikos Romanos on the occasion of the opinion expressed by the former that the extraordinary taxation of banks would lead, among other things, to “less borrowing and higher borrowing costs”.
In particular, Nikos Romanos states in his statement:
“The parliamentary representative of PASOK, Pavlos Geroulanos, in a relaxed discussion with the deputy governor of the Bank of Greece, Theodoros Pelagidis, in Vima, admits that the extraordinary taxation of banks would lead, among other things, to “less borrowing and higher borrowing costs”. In short, Mr. Geroulanos admits that his party’s proposal for an extraordinary taxation of banks is essentially groundless and hypocritical, as it would bring about the exact opposite of the intended result, ultimately burdening the citizens.
When, of course, we made the exact same criticism of the PASOK proposal in question, we were “with the few”! When the PASOK parliamentary representative says it, revealing the attempt to deceive the citizens by its President, it’s just Saturday!
As noted in the Geroulanou-Pelagidis debate, “we must pay attention not so much to topical issues that may arouse the interest of citizens and voters, but to have consideration for issues that are particularly sensitive and critical. And to see the medium-long-term effects”.
In short, seriousness is required, based on which the Government legislates, in contrast to PASOK which, unfortunately, continues to ignore this specific concept, bringing non-territorial amendments to the table with the sole aim of populism.
We await with interest the reaction of Mr. Androulakis».
