“In today’s international environment, the country is standing strong, stable and confident. In an environment of instability we do not need polarization, rationales of extermination of the opponent and criminalizing political life, “the prime minister said Kyriakos Mitsotakis From Karpenissi, a station of his tour in Evritania.

‘We first asked for exams for OPECEPEnot only to make responsibility, but for how we become better, we will make use of European subsidies for the benefit of real farmers. We will get the money behind the thieves, “the prime minister said.

“In a democracy we need to disagree, but we cannot see our political opponent as an enemy we want to exterminate,” Mr Mitsotakis said, recalling Pavlos Bakoyannis’ phrase “we can disagree because we can coexist,”

Visit to Karpenisi 2nd Elementary School

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis visited the 2nd Primary School of Karpenisi, one of the 430 schools in the country that are renovated first in the summer through the “Marietta Giannakou” program.

Earlier, the Prime Minister was briefed by the Minister of Education, Religions and Sports Sofia Zacharakis and the headmaster of the school Yiannis Efthimiou on the ongoing work in the classrooms, public areas and the school’s courtyard so that the new school year can be held. The Prime Minister was also welcomed by the Regional Director of Education of Central Greece Eleni Beniatas and the Director of Evritania Primary Education Vassilis Stavropoulos Regional Director of Education of Greece Eleni Beniata.

Concluding his visit to school, Kyriakos Mitsotakis said: “The “Marietta Giannakou” program is spreading throughout the Greek region and I am very pleased to be in Karpenissi, in the 2nd Elementary School, one of the 430 schools that benefit from important interventions, which are being made in the summer, so that the school is ready in September.

I would like to remind you that this program concerns interventions in hygiene, accessibility interventions, grooming interventions, and interventions in which I attach great importance to the backyard and especially to the reconstruction of old stadiums, so that our children can play in pleasure, but primarily conditions.

It is the first step we take in a great effort to overall reconstitut the school’s building throughout the country.

And I want to reiterate this program that its first phase must be completed by September. This is also his difficulty. We have a few months to make the interventions. So I would like to thank all the contractors throughout Greece, who are struggling to adhere to the timetables.

But, first and foremost, Mr. Director, in your face, to thank all the training executives, who are now supervising the work over the summer, so that everything is ready in early September to welcome our children and especially our firsts.

You have 20 from what I understand, who will come here to the 2nd Elementary, for which I understand that the minister has a special interest, as her uncle was a headmaster at this school.

Sofia Zacharaki: But I didn’t choose it, it was already selected.

Kyriakos Mitsotakis: But it was not chosen for this reason, chosen by other criteria.

So good work to wish and with our good children, in 430 schools in September, they will find them fully renovated, much more qualitative and much more accessible and safer. “

For her part, Minister of Education, Religions and Sports Sofia Zacharakis noted: “We are in Karpenissi, in the 2nd Karpenisi Elementary School, a historical school, which you see that it is currently rebuilt with very important interventions. The outdoor space will change, be painted, accessible to people with disabilities, toilets will also be rebuilt. All this from the “Marietta Giannakou” program. Thank you very much to the donors who have practiced these 100 million for the 430 schools. One of them, then, President, and the 2nd Karpenisi Elementary. We welcome you here today ».

Earlier, Kyriakos Mitsotakis visited the Karpenisi Sports Center where he was guided by the Regional Governor of Central Greece Fani Spanos and the Mayor of Karpenisi Christos Kakava at the premises and was informed about the course of the projects implemented for his upgrade.

He also had the opportunity to chat with Team Manager Sotiris Kyrgiakos, the players and coaches of the “Kifissia Sports Association” team that is preparing in Karpenissi.
