The meeting of the New Democracy Parliamentary Group started with tension immediately After the prime minister’s speechwith the “blue” MP George Vlachos reacting to the intention of approved the election of Maximos Harakopoulos in the position of Secretary of the CoE and not by ballot box.
Kyriakos Mitsotakis reportedly responded by saying: “Since we have a candidate what you are doing is not in line with the unity of the lineup and creates a climate of introversion. Unless you want to get out of the candidate ».
The East Attica MP insisted that the ballot box be set up, causing tension at the meeting.
According to the same information, the following dialogue followed:
Kyriakos Mitsotakis: Do you want to get off a candidate for secretary too?
George Vlachos: To comply with the Regulation I ask.
Kyriakos Mitsotakis: After we have a candidate. What you do is incompatible with the unity of the lineup and creates a climate of introversion.
George Vlachos: I ask that the ballot box is put in so as not to repeat what happened in the secret summer ballot (citing the vote of OPECEPE with the letter).
