Anthony has revealed that he is still keeping an eye on Manchester United after watching them beat Liverpool 2-1 on Monday night.

The Brazilian international was one of United’s main targets in the summer transfer window, but Ajax is valued at €100m (£84.8m).

Anton refused to train at the Dutch club last week and was hoping to move to United after scoring in Sunday’s 1-0 win over Sparta Rotterdam.

Anton has been photographed watching Liverpool with his brother and appears to be keeping an eye on United’s progress under Erik ten Hag.

Emerson Santos, who also serves as Anton’s career and finance manager, included the red devil emoji when filming live footage of United’s game on television.

It is understood that Anthony will join United before the end of the transfer window, but The Telegraph said Ajax were unhappy with Ten Hag’s decision to move so late in the transfer window.

Over the weekend, Ajax head coach Alfred Schroeder said he hoped Anthony would stay at Ajax.

“I just want Anton to stay, so I don’t think they’ll sell him,” Schroeder told ESPN.

“This amount is ridiculous, but we have already sold five or six key players.

Asked if Ajax could turn down United’s big offer, Schroeder said: “I can’t decide. The club has to decide.”

But I think we are very strong financially.

Asked if he thought Anton would stay at Ajax this summer, Schroeder said: “My feelings about it are good, but I understand a guy like that. It’s hard.”

But we play in the Champions League and I don’t think Manchester United will. Let’s wait and see. ‘
