The Panhellenic Wheelchair Fencing Championship was organized by EAOM-AmeA, in collaboration with the University of West Attica.
Greetings, on behalf of the Federation, were addressed by the Special Secretary and Chairman of the Technical Committee, Konstantinia Sotiriadis, and, on behalf of PADA, the Rector, Professor, Panagiotis Kaldis. The latter honored the athletes Panos Triantafyllou, Vassilis Dounis and the federal coach, Dimitris Kazaglis, for their participation in the Tokyo Paralympic Games, as well as honored the two Greek international referees, Leonidas Koukos and Jason Aathas.
For their cooperation, EAOM-AmeA, through the hand of Mrs. Sotiriadis and the curator of National teams, Konstantinos Siachos, handed over to the Rector an honorary plaque, while, subsequently, PADA honored the federation.
This was followed by the presentation of the sport and the athletes by the federal coach, while the championship and the medal ceremonies were honored by the presence and participation of: General Secretary of Social Solidarity and Fight against Poverty, George Peperopikos, Nikos Stamomatis , Andreas Leotsakos, Deputy Regional Governor of the Western Sector of Athens, the Director of the Office of the Deputy Minister of Sports, Stavros Tsoulos, the President of the Hellenic Fencing Federation, Ioannis Lignos, the member of the Executive Board, and its Chairman Vice Rector for Academic Affairs and Student Welfare of PADA, Professor Efstathia Papageorgiou.
In the competition part, the “silver” Paralympian of Rio and “bronze” in Tokyo, Panos Triantafyllou, won the duel sword and the B / C category sword, while the other representative of the Greek fencing in Tokyo, Vassilis Dounis, won in category A`.
In the women, Efthymia Vlami was first in three weapons and specifically in the A / B exercise sword, the duel sword A, as well as the sword A.
