Germany coach Hansi Flick said he was satisfied with the 1-1 draw with Spain this Sunday (27), in Group E of the World Cup in Qatar.

“We see a Spanish team that plays very well. We also played at a high level, we had chances but we didn’t manage to score another goal. Maybe this result will give us a little more morale,” Flick told a press conference.

“I liked the team’s mentality, so I’m very satisfied,” added the German coach.

“The Spaniards started well, but we managed to respond. The game changed a little, we took control, we defended well, working hard”, he evaluated.

“We faced an opponent with many qualities. It is very difficult to defend this opponent, but the mentality was the right one and I am happier with this game”, he continued.

Germany will face Costa Rica in the last round of the group stage, who earlier beat Japan 1-0.

“A comeback like that after the 7-0 [para a Espanha, na estreia] it’s amazing. They have a good defense, they position themselves well on the field, they deserved their goal”, said Flick, about the next opponent.

“But until then we have to digest today’s game [domingo]🇧🇷 This team needs confidence, it needs to believe in itself”, concluded the coach.
