Richarlison’s goal against Serbia, in the 2-0 victory in the debut of the Brazilian team in the World Cup in Qatar, was chosen by popular vote as the most beautiful of the tournament.

The announcement was made this Friday (23) by the official World Cup profiles on social networks.

In the play, Vinicius Junior charges from the left of the attack and crosses with style. Richarlison dominates, the ball goes up and, without dropping it, he volleys it to end the game. Before, the striker himself had opened the scoring in a bid of opportunism, taking advantage of a rebound in the area.

The other candidates for the most beautiful goal were Salem Al-Dawsari, from Saudi Arabia (a goal that made the score 2-1 in Argentina); Cody Gakpo, from the Netherlands (1-0 in Ecuador); Enzo Fernandez, from Argentina (2-0 in Mexico); Cameroon’s Vincent Aboubakar (3-2 in Serbia); Luis Chavez, from Mexico (2-0 in Saudi Arabia); Mbappé, from France (3-0 in Poland); Richarlison, again (3-0 in Korea); Paik Seung-Ho, from Korea (4 to 1 in Brazil); and Neymar, from Brazil (1-0 in Croatia). Brazil ended up eliminated from the Cup after losing on penalties to Croatia, after a 1-1 draw in extra time. Coach Tite left the command of the selection, and the CBF should define the new coach of the country in January. Argentina was the champion.
