Pelé’s fame made him an idol in different sectors of Brazilian society. One of them, that of entities and associations, and the other, of companies and institutions, each remember how the King of Football made himself and is present in their actions.

In 2020, the three-time world champion said he still insisted on getting involved with good causes, “whether with NGOs, public institutions or with my sponsors”. “This is part of my legacy and I applaud other footballing legends who have followed suit,” he said.

The Pequeno Príncipe Hospital, for example, remembered the support offered by the number 10 of the Brazilian team to help in the treatment of young people and children. The institution has Flavia Arantes do Nascimento, daughter of the King, as advisory counselor.

“Pelé’s legacy is eternal. Not just for the 3 World Cups he won. Pelé’s legacy is also eternal for every life he helped Little Prince transform through his support of the largest pediatric hospital in Brazil”, says publication .

UN Brazil wrote that Pelé was a Goodwill Ambassador at Rio-92. “Edson Arantes do Nascimento died at the age of 82 as one of the greatest athletes of all time. In the early 1990s, at the invitation of the UN, he served as Goodwill Ambassador at the Rio92 Conference”.

Even the Brazilian Army released photos of Pelé during the period he enlisted in the Armed Forces.

Along the same lines, Adidas Brasil thanked the King of Football “for teaching us to love the game”.

The Verde Amarelo Movement, responsible for the official supporters of the Brazilian Paralympics, also honored the King.

“Brazil died today. It’s not an exaggeration or our passion for the national team. It’s the country itself. The definition of what we understand by being Brazilian, before the world and ourselves, ceases to exist along with the King. They will always refer to us like Brazil, land of PELÉ He invented us as a people, says publication.

The CNI (National Confederation of Industry), recalled the actions against poverty promoted by Pelé through the institution The Pelé Foundation.

“The death of Edson Arantes do Nascimento, King Pelé, is an irreparable loss not only for football, but for world sport as a whole.

Considered the greatest footballer of all time, Pelé used his global prestige to develop and support projects of a social nature, such as The Pelé Foundation, an institution that works together with NGOs from several countries that develop actions against poverty, through projects educational programs aimed at low-income youth.

Another example in this field is the Pelé Pequeno Príncipe Research Institute, headquartered in Curitiba/PR, which develops studies with a view to obtaining advances in the diagnosis and treatment of illnesses that affect the health of children and adolescents.

On behalf of the Brazilian industry, we offer our condolences to all family, friends and admirers, wishing that everyone finds spiritual comfort in this time of so much pain and sadness”, said Robson Braga de Andrade, president of CNI.

Puma also released a photo of Pelé, with the phrase “Forever O Rei”.

His name promoted Brazil and globally spread the main virtues of our people. He also honored the textile and clothing industry, with the sweat worthy of his talent and race in the uniforms of his beloved Santos and the Brazilian National Team.
