Olympiacos has qualified for the quarter-finals of the CEV Women’s Volleyball Cup, however with the conclusion of the play-offs, the four best third-placed teams from the Champions League groups will enter the competition.
Thus, in the first match of the best eight teams phase of the competition, the “red and white” want to take advantage of “Melina Mercouri” and celebrate a “clean” victory against Dukla Liberec at 19:00 in Rentis, in order to take the first step qualifying for the next round, ahead of next Wednesday’s second leg in the Czech Republic.
Lorenzo Micelli said: “We want to continue in the European competition. And Liberec is a team that plays strongly in the CEV Cup, but also in its league, but we are ready to play, to play our own game for the goal we have. We had a difficult January. From last Saturday onwards we have three matches in one week. We will fight.”
Jaylie Winters said: “We are looking forward to playing against a respectable opponent. I like the way our team is playing right now. I see this game as an opportunity to continue to prove to everyone what a great team we are becoming.”
