A.S. ARIS is pleased to announce that the EEC has officially recognized the 22nd title of the ARIS Basketball team.
WITH its official document, the Hellenic Basketball Federation informed today Tuesday (28/02) A.S. ARIS that the title is recognized as the SUPER Cup.
It was in 1986, when the champion ARIS faced the cup winner Panathinaikos in a double match, for the then Super Cup. In Alexandrio, ARIS won with 117-85 and doubled its victories in SEF, with 88-104, winning the trophy. A trophy, however, which was not officially recognized, for unknown reasons. Then the event was abolished, because ARIS won the double every year and actually came back in 2020, under the auspices of ESAKE.
A.S. ARIS expresses its satisfaction for the restoration of a historical injustice. The management of the Amateur brought the issue back, officially requesting the recognition of the title and we thank the management of the EEC for the positive outcome of the case. We would also like to inform you that in one of this year’s games of the ARIS basketball team, the 22nd banner will be raised in the sky of “Nick Galis Hall”.
