They make history: Premiere for Olympiakos and Vouliagmeni in the Final 8 of the Champions League!

Olympiacos and Vouliagmeni meet today (31/05) in the pool for the Final 8 of the Champions League. Before even starting, however, they have written history for Greek polo, which will be represented in the final phase of the great event for first time by two teams.

NOV qualified for maiden time in the Final 8 and Olympiacos returned after a year’s absence, for the ninth presence of, aiming to win his third trophy.

The match schedule of the Final 8, held in Belgrade, will be “opened” by the match between Barcelona and Jug on 16:30with the Catalans making up the undisputed favourite.

At 18:00 the big battle between Olympiakos and hostess Novi Beograd. The Final 8 hosts are coming off a dream season which saw them reach the final where they were beaten by Pro Reco and are looking to repeat their triumph. However, the “red and whites” have tradition on their side and are chasing qualification for the seventh semi-final in their history.

Last year, Olympiacos did not compete in the final phase, ending one seven year streak with consecutive appearances, where he was crowned European champion once and was runner-up twice.

The match is special for both sides. THE Igor Milanovich, who is sitting on the Olympiakos bench, is pitted against his former team, with whom he reached the final last year. On the other hand, the -former Olympiakos players- compete with Novi’s cap Angelos Vlachopoulos and Dimitris Skoubakis.

At 19:30 her battle will begin Vouliagmeni with the Breccia. NOB will be “present” for the first time in the final phase of the Champions League, having the ambition to overcome the obstacle of the Italian team, which counts consecutive appearances in the semi-finals (2021, 2022), which are their greatest success in the competition .
