Vasilogiannis, 32, is widely recognized as one of the most talented strikers in Super League 2, having scored 35 goals with 33 assists in 185 league games in his career. He has been named MVP in the past, having led Lamia to their first promotion to Super League 1 in their history. Vasilogiannis has played in Super League 1 with Lamia and Corfu, while he has also gained experience in Turkey and Cyprus.

Born in Patras, Vasilogiannis went to Piraeus and became a member of the Olympiacos academy. After manager Takis Lemonis gave him a place in the first team, making his debut at the age of 16 in the 2007 Super Cup, Vasilogiannis developed and rose steadily and eventually continued his career with a series of loan spells.

At the age of 19, Vasilogiannis played his first full season of professional football while on loan at second division side Piraeus, making 22 league appearances with three goals in the 2010/11 season. Aged 21, he gained his first top-flight experience during a loan spell at Super League 1 side Corfu, making 10 league appearances (four as a starter) in the 2012/13 season.

Vasilogiannis left Olympiakos in the summer of 2013 and went on to stand out with his performances in three successive seasons with Cypriot first division club Chania, Lamia and Hermes before returning to Lamia and propelling the team to their first ever promotion to the Super League 1 scoring 12 goals and 10 assists in 31 matches, standing out as the team’s top scorer and winning the MVP title in the 2016/17 season

After his brilliant career in Lamia, the ambitious team of Istanbul Umraniyespor “grabbed” Vasilogiannis, claiming in turn their first promotion to the Turkish Super Lig. Vasilogiannis made 66 appearances with eight goals and eight assists over the next two seasons with the club, reaching the semi-final stage of the promotion play-offs during his career there, but ultimately failing to secure it.

In the summer of 2019, Vasilogiannis left Turkey and returned to Greece for his third spell at Lamia, this time with the club in Super League 1. He made 29 appearances (15 as a starter) in the 2019/20 Super season League 1, before leaving midway through the following season for Chania, where he scored 15 goals with seven assists in 53 appearances over the next year and a half.

Vasilogiannis spent the previous season in Kalamata and has now signed for AKFC.

You’re welcome, Andrea.”
