During the press conference, the coach of Marseille expressed the need to improve his team in the match against Panathinaikos. Marthelino.

The Spanish coach, one day before the great match at the Velodrome, told reporters he was optimistic about the outcome of the qualification, while he kept his cards closed regarding his plans for tomorrow’s game.

Analytically:

For the rematch with Panathinaikos: “I’m optimistic, I always am. If the manager is pessimistic, then he will transmit the pessimism to my players. I believe we have the ability to win the game and qualify.”

On the offensive dystopia of Marseille: “I expect participation from everyone in the attack, from advancing the ball to finishing. We need to improve our decisions in attack. We have a lot of things to fix and I’m sure we will. There have been many changes in the team in a short period of time. But tomorrow we will be ready.”

On his plans ahead of the rematch: “I don’t like to improvise. I find that improvisations lead more easily to mistakes. Two or three players in midfield will not affect possession. We try to be more mobile, to have options in the pass for whoever has the ball. In the future I might play with three midfielders. We will know our final strength on August 31st and I may adjust my plan.”
