Voutsis and the FIA ​​president signed a memorandum of cooperation to combat online violence

The Deputy Minister of Sports, Yannis Vroutsis, met with the president of the International Automobile Federation (FIA), Mohammed Ben Sulayem, who is in our country for the holding of the EKO Rally Acropolis, which starts today and ends next Sunday.

The minister pointed out how important is the trust of the world community towards Greece, the birthplace of the Olympic games and the Values ​​of Sports, for the organization of such great international events and how, through the Acropolis Rally, which completes 70 years and is a cultural heritage of the country, spreading these ideals to the hundreds of millions of motorsport fans.

Mr. Vroutsis underlined, at the same time, that despite the disastrous consequences in the country from the adverse weather conditions and the climate crisis, the holding of the EKO Rally Acropolis will be perfect, as befits the institution.

The president of the FIA ​​expressed his support for the difficult times that Greece is experiencing with the fires and floods, assured that the International Federation will support the recovery actions of our country and thanked warmly for all the preparations, in order to organize the EKO Rally Acropolis to evolve flawlessly.

Mr. Sulayem, moreover, explained to the Minister the plans of the FIA ​​for the further spread of motor sports, with initiatives to drastically reduce the cost of engaging in the races and programs of social responsibility, road safety and environmental protection.

Mr. Vroutsis and the president of the International Federation co-signed a Memorandum of Cooperation, for the fight against online violence in sports (United Against Online Abuse), with the aim of cooperation, finding solutions and promoting good practices that will limit these phenomena.

The minister offered Mr. Soulagiem a statuette from the Museum of Cycladic Art (replica of “Kouros”, the representative Cycladic symbol of youth for 2,500 years).
