October 2013-October 2023. Ten years have passed since the Sveshchat European Championship where Greek table tennis experienced one of the best moments in its history. In the event, which took place in the Austrian city from 4 to 13/10/2013, she won the silver medal in the men’s team (her only one so far in history) and the bronze with Panagiotis Gionis in the men’s singles (the champion’s only us in the competition).
The WEB TV of the Greek sports federation is preparing a documentary to remind and emphasize those wonderful moments and with a small trailer it gives a first taste. Narratives, feelings, memories from the protagonists and more will “travel” the friends of table tennis and sports in general, to the two landmark medals of the European championship in Austria.
Panagiotis Gionis, Kallinikos Kreanga, Kostas Papageorgiou, Tasos Riniotis (athletes of the European runner-up), Kostas Vatsaklis (coach of the team), Manolis Kolymbadis (former president of EFOEPA), Andreas Georgiou (president of the Cyprus Federation), George Papageorgiou (member) spoke to the camera then of the administration of E.F.O.E.P.A. and father of the current president), Sotiris Zikos (extraordinary coach of the women at the time, all present at Sveshchat), Stella Nikoloudaki (current director of the administrative services of the federation and a connecting link at the time of the offices with the national team) and from the foreign top aces the German Dimitri Ovcharov, the Belarusian Vladimir Samsonov and the Portuguese Thiago Apollonia and Joao Monteiro.
