Moisés, 37, still cannot forget the scene he experienced last Sunday (7), in the stands of Vila Belmiro, when a group of Santos fans harassed him and his 9-year-old son, BN, after the boy received the shirt from goalkeeper Jailson, from Palmeiras, at the end of the derby won by team alviverde.
The boy, who plays in the youth teams at Santos, recorded and published a video on a social network, hidden from his father, in which he claims to be a Santos player, not from Palmeiras. He also apologized if anyone was offended that he received his rival’s uniform. The recording went viral on the internet this Tuesday (9).
“It’s just that I like him a lot [Jailson]. I also like Weverton, who is from the Brazilian team. I’m not from Palmeira, I’m from Santos”, he said in an excerpt of the message.
“Yesterday he was very upset, not today. He woke up, went to school, but he didn’t touch the phone. When he got home he saw what he had become [a repercussão do caso]. I told him to make a retraction, but it was ironic. I went out to cook, I was making food, while he took his cell phone on his own and recorded it. I only found out an hour or two later,” says Moisés.
His son was on the fence behind the goal that is closest to the entrance to the visiting team’s locker rooms. Before entering the tunnel, the goalkeeper from Palmeira Jailson took off his shirt and threw it to the boy. Then, some Santos fans charged the boy and his father.
“He’s been to the stadium since he was two years old, in every game. This traumatized me, it’s not a common thing. At the time everything happened, my reaction was to take him out of the stadium. Crowded, the police came, and I grabbed him. he as I could, I put him behind me,” relates Moses.
Santos said in a statement that it did not condone the attitude of this group of fans and said that it had invited the boy and his father to watch the team’s next match, against Red Bull Bragantino, this Wednesday (10), at 7 pm, in one of the boxes da Vila –SporTV and Premiere broadcast the game.
“We accepted Santos’ invitation. Of course I’m still afraid. Tomorrow [quarta] he goes, but completely uncharacterized. He will not wear the clothes he normally wears, nor his team shirt on the streets. Go with a sweatshirt, cap and mask until we enter. Let’s stay in a reserved place,” says the boy’s father.
“I believe that this could change my son’s relationship with football. Just by talking, we saw a difference in his speech. For the first time he said ‘I don’t know if we’re going to.’ no game at all. Santos made an invitation to the whole family, but it may be that we will go and not go later,” he adds.
About the uniform received as a gift by goalkeeper Jailson, Moisés says he created a trauma because of the event. “He put the shirt away. For me, it turned into an unwanted object, I told him to get rid of it. He said it was very difficult for us to get it and that he doesn’t want to give or sell it for now.”
After the defeat by Palmeiras, Santos returned to approach the relegation zone of the Brazilian Championship. With 35 points, the team starts the round in 16th place, with a five-point advantage over Sport, the first team in the Z4.
To assemble the team, coach Fabio Carille will not be able to count on the right side Madson, suspended by the third yellow card. He scored goals against Fluminense and Athletico, two straight victories that gave Santos impetus in the fight against the takedown.
